I chose this movie from a list of many movies with a casual attitude.

At the beginning of the movie, I was attracted by the unique frosted voice of the heroine. I really love her voice, lazy and with a wise tone, very mellow. The group of pregnant women at the beginning of the movie formed a sharp contrast with the heroine. This feeling is very strange. I can't explain it. It vaguely reflects that her boyfriend who loves games is not her true love.

The second love came very suddenly. Both of them fell in love at first sight. They lived passionately every day. She thought he was her true love... But they broke up! Not surprisingly, he gave me the impression of a sophisticated man. He was keen on making friends with people who had common topics and the same dimensions. He couldn't accept the low-level jokes of the heroine's friends (actually, I didn't like that joke either).

As expected, she and the lawyer ended up together. It was not surprising, not at all. After all, choosing a tie is something that only close couples would do. The movie hinted at the beginning that they would be together.

In addition, the heroine always thought that her adoptive father didn't love her. But I don't think so. Just like her biological father said, the first thing the adoptive father did after driving home was to pick up the young girl and spin her around, but she didn't remember it. At the end of the movie, the adoptive father also described this behavior again.

Regarding the relationship between the heroine and her mother, to be honest, it is really warm and heartwarming.

The Life List | Women's Growth and Restarting Life

⭐️Movie name: The Life List⭐️Country and release time: United States (Netflix) 2025⭐️Movie duration: 123min⭐️Stars: Sofia CarlsonThe movie tells the story of Alex's mother leaving her a special legacy-letting her complete her childhood wish list. In the process of completing the list, the heroine constantly searches for herself and becomes a better self, restarting the story of her life. A very warm and healing movie, the transition of the movie's perspective is very comfortable, and the picture is very beautiful. Although it is an American movie, the family affection is portrayed very warmly and delicately. Although there are no ups and downs, it has the charm that allows people to watch it quietly. The appearance of all the members of the movie is online, the logic of the movie is online, the character portrayal is very successful, and the final happy ending also makes the movie a perfect ending. The movie composition and change of perspective can be completely referenced by our daily photography and video recording. The following contains spoilers. I can't understand it at all. In the case of having a confirmed partner, there is still mental + physical derailment. And in some settings, the heroine is portrayed as a spoiled, ignorant, stupid beauty. But this movie is still worth watching, 4 stars - suitable for slow appreciation in quiet time.

Movie Notes

Story summary:

The story revolves around Alex, the most beloved girl in a super-rich family. After her mother passed away, Alex was not only fired from her job, but also asked to complete a childhood wish list within one year. Whether she can complete the challenge within the deadline becomes the core of the story.

Viewers are complaining:

It is a standard American movie about the growth of the second generation of a wealthy family. Apart from the leading female character, the movie shows Alex's affluent life. She travels around the big city wearing brand-name clothes and lives in a spacious apartment.

The movie tries to mix elements of growth, family, love, and career together. The idea is good, but the result is that each aspect is only touched upon briefly. The process of Alex completing the tasks on the list is like going through the motions. This makes the whole story seem particularly thin and lacks depth. Moreover, the plot direction and ending can be easily guessed by the audience, and there is no surprise at all.

The performance of the actors is also full of flaws. As the protagonist, Sofia Carson's lines are dry and there is no emotional ups and downs. No matter what the scene is, it is the same tone, which makes people drowsy. The scene where she communicates with Brad should have an emotional collision, but her monotonous performance can't keep up the rhythm at all. The other actors are not much better. Whether they are sad, happy or angry, they are all superficial, and people can't feel the real emotions of the characters. Veteran actors like Connie Britton and Jordi Moura seem to be "slacking off" in this movie, and they didn't perform to their due level.

For those who like romantic love stories, do not require high depth of the plot, and yearn for a rich life, this movie may be able to find some fun in the movie. For example, the relationship between Alex, Garrett, and Brad in the movie has some small romance and twists and turns, which can meet the expectations of some viewers for love movies. In addition, if the viewer simply wants to find a relaxing movie to kill time in his spare time and does not care too much about the logic and depth of the movie, then this movie is worth watching. But for viewers who pursue movie quality and hope to see depth and connotation in the movie, this movie obviously cannot meet their needs.

After-viewing

After watching it, you can actually feel some cultural differences, but some things remain unchanged. There are many kinds of emotions mixed in this (spoilers involved, please do not read) Alex and his mother have a strong bond. After his mother died, she did not leave Alex with a substantial legacy, but a wish list that Alex wrote when he was a child. Alex will get a CD for each item he completes. But it does not mean that his mother does not love Alex. On the contrary, she left such a list because she was worried that Alex would not be able to cheer up after she left. Leaving the inheritance to Alex's brothers does not mean that his mother does not care about his brothers, but that she thinks his brothers are quite reliable. The early stage is the process of Alex slowly fulfilling the list, becoming a good teacher, learning piano, doing talk shows, getting tattoos, learning to drive... In the middle, there are Alex's thoughts on feelings. The first paragraph is about a man that Alex's mother does not like, and Alex quickly let it go after thinking about it. The second paragraph is about a man Alex met, who is very gentlemanly and romantic, but does not recognize Alex completely. After she knew this, she quickly let it go. I like what she said, "My messy room, my friends, the books I read, they are all me." While Alex was completing the list, she found out that she was not her father's biological daughter. Her very good mother cheated in her marriage. So Alex wanted to find the truth and find her real father. She thought that she and her father did not have a good relationship, and her father was stingy with her emotional support since she was a child, because she was not his biological daughter. But after finding her father, Alex only had a very brief conversation with her biological father, and the next day she broke the appointment with her father. Alex was disappointed for a while, and then said something that I quite agree with, "I expect a complete stranger to solve all the problems in my life." In fact, the whole story does not seem complicated, and this kind of plot is not uncommon, but it can touch me every time, because I like to see the emotional bond in it, whether it is the family relationship between Alex and her mother, or the gap between Alex and her two brothers and father, but the kind of relationship that cannot be separated. Or, the feelings that Alex has with other people on his journey of pursuing true love according to his list, which are close to love but not love, are very touching to me. This story is about Alex's continuous process of finding himself, and this is what he wants to tell us. You have to find your true self.

A life with a sense of purpose will bring happiness

It has been a long time since I watched this kind of emotional healing movie. There is no fierce gunfire and no intrigue and calculation. Instead, there is a return to the daily life, and of course a sweet love with twists and turns and romance.

Compared with the fast pace and pursuit of excitement of most movies nowadays, the leisurely narration of "The List of Life" seems particularly refreshing. The clues of the list that still retain the childishness and the image of the urban beauty character made me watch it to the end without "fast forwarding".

More importantly, when the Happy Ending arrived as expected, I was moved by the long-lost warmth, and I blurted out in my heart: Perhaps, happiness will knock on the door of a life with a sense of purpose~

The list is the first step to achieving your ideal, but we often stop there.

Like the heroine Alex Ross, we all wrote similar "wish lists" when we were young, but as time goes by, it can't escape the fate of being on the edge of life, and the folds are covered with the dust of childhood. Looking back, if we insist on fulfilling this list, even if we complete 1-2 small goals, perhaps our lives will be completely different.

Watching the heroine follow her mother's will and restart the list plan, I was actually moved and envious, because at this moment she regained the life she longed for and embarked on the road to finding herself. Although it is a bit romantic, isn't this the charm of the movie? In reality, we often stop here.

The list is the bull's eye of your sense of purpose, and it gives life meaning from then on.

I heard a scholar say that life itself has no meaning, but that is why we need to set goals for ourselves so that we can give our lives unique meaning.

The movie "The List of Life" precisely concretizes this sentence. Watching the heroine perform a public "talk show", read a novel, become a (part-time) teacher, and later advance to learning and playing the piano piece "Moonlight" on the spot to reconcile with her father, I can't help but be moved!

From this, she gradually regained the long-lost happiness and understood what are the most important things in a short life. I am sincerely happy for her and ask myself: Is my wish list still there? Can I find the bull's eye of my life goal?

A checklist is not a KPI that must be completed, but the key to open the treasure chest of happiness.

One thing I really like about the movie is that the heroine didn't complete all the items on the "list", which makes the regret more real. I think regret itself is also an indispensable experience in life. The key is that it opens the treasure chest of happiness.

The hero and heroine experienced misunderstandings, ambiguity, impulse, and loss, but finally got together. Although it is a narrative that is a bit romantic in a middle-class family, holding hands after many twists and turns can always touch people's hearts. No matter what happens in the future, when the story ends, the audience is left with a full sense of happiness.

Love is the highlight, but it is not everything. The reconciliation between father and daughter and the affection between brothers and sisters are also part of the happiness of love and are equally precious.

I think the completion of the list is not important, the key is the courage to complete it~
